Accessible stalls and access aisles

ADA Parking Lot Markings

ADA accessible parking stall with blue pavement markings and access aisle

Accessible parking areas need to be visible, measured, and easy to understand from the driver seat and the pedestrian route.

What We Look For

We repaint ADA symbols, blue stall markings, access aisles, hatch marks, and related lines after fading, sealcoating, resurfacing, or layout changes. We also look at spacing, aisle visibility, sign locations, curb ramps, pedestrian routes, and whether drivers are likely to block an access aisle.

Common problems include faded blue paint, missing hatch marks, access aisles used as parking, van-accessible stalls that are hard to identify, and markings scraped thin by plows near front entrances.

We are not a substitute for legal or engineering advice. Property owners should confirm final requirements with the applicable authority, but clean measurement and visible striping help reduce obvious problems.
